Reflections on 2025

With another growing season behind us, we wanted to share a few reflections and some of our favorite photos from the year. Like most growing years, this one came with both challenges and bright moments.

We faced a late start with our dahlias, and some tubers grew strong plants that never quite made it to bloom. The weather kept us on our toes as well, with a late last frost and persistent winds testing both plants and patience. Still, the season had a way of balancing itself out.

This year also marked the inaugural year of the Sierra Nevada Dahlia Society, which we were excited to be part of. We participated in our first dahlia show and were honored to come home with a few awards. A local school grew dahlias from our tubers with their students, and seeing their success and enthusiasm was one of the highlights of the year. Watching students discover the joy of growing flowers reminded us why we do this in the first place.

Despite the hurdles, we grew some truly beautiful bouquets and were grateful to supply flowers to local florists and wedding vendors throughout the season. Those moments made the harder days feel well worth it.

As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited for new flowers, new challenges, and the continued learning that comes with each growing year.
